Something modern culture seems to have lost sight of is how masculine and feminine power can be quite different.
Like much about being feminine, feminine forms of power were branded as weak and inferior by those advocating women act more like men, “in order to be taken seriously.” Thus feminine forms of power were largely cast aside as outdated.
Today its more common to see women opting for masculine power techniques, even priding themselves on being ballsy, brash, and outspoken. However, these masculine forms of power don’t sit well on a woman.
It may be counterintuitive, but for a woman there is far more power in being gentle.
Maybe you know such a woman? She isn’t loud but yet people listen. She isn’t demanding but is given respect. She isn’t pushy but gets far.
Gentleness is so powerful for a woman for exactly the same reasons strength is so powerful for a man. It is the essence of femininity just as strength is the essence of masculinity. Yin and yang.
Perhaps it’s projection at play here? Women might be confusing what they see as strength in men as what men would see as strength in women? But the reality is, they don’t. Just like women don’t see feminine forms of power as strength in a man, despite the common modern sensitive guy trope. It’s repellant vs. attractive.
If you want to be more effective in your efforts, try a gentle approach. You might be surprised how much further it gets you than a more forceful “masculine” method.

We all learn to deal with that side effect and not kill everyone in a Golden Corral just because they are between you and the fried chicken
Golden Corral … and fried chicken at Golden Corral … double blech! lol! if a person looses it b/c someone comes btw them and Golden Corral food, you know they’ve got to be a bit addled in the mind 😉
Back in college, the guy and gal upstairs in the apt. complex I shared w two other gals were Mr. and Mrs. “golden couple.” He was most likely on the steroids based on his appearance alone, and sure enough he would rage and was a scary dude. She was a Barbie doll wanna be. It all looked perfect from the street, including the BMW and Harley but living below them, we knew all was not well in paradise. Constant fighting — like yelling and stuff hitting walls fighting. I was glad when they moved out!
At the Golden Corral that recently opened near my place, it’s the fried shrimp people are ready to kill each other over. Lol! Scary… I figured I would let the “newly opened” hysteria fade before going back… It”s JUST fried shrimp! (But actually I LOVE fried shrimp, like maybe more than any other seafood, but not enough to throw down w people over.)
isn’t that funny what people flock to? i’m always amused by things like that.
i’m not a big fan of chain restaurants, especially ones that have their food out for display like that for long periods of time. i’m kinda a food snob … but it’s more like a germ freak. i see food out like that and i think there’s gotta be gross things growing in that stuff! lol!
one never knows what’s really going on behind closed doors. our perception of reality is often very skewed.
@ame yes it was flu season when we went and that’s all I could think about, too! Hand sanitizer!!!!!
ewww! you’re a braver woman than i, Bloom!
that fried shrimp must have over-rode your senses 😉 😉 😉
