I am not sure exactly when it happened, but these days it feels like normal is the new weird!
I realized this yesterday as I found myself at an event talking to a gal with multiple body piercings, tattoos (including a large green worm on the side of her face!), blue and purple hair, and jewelry that indicated her sexual fetishes and preferences.
As I looked around, I realized I might have been the only woman there without a tattoo, or body piercings (besides pierced ears), or unnaturally colored hair, or jewelry or clothing that didn’t somehow make a statement. Yep, I was a normie!
Now I am not saying there is anything wrong with being an individual, or expressing oneself, but it struck me that in a world where everyone is desperately trying to be more edgy and individual than anyone else, and as a result are having to go to greater and greater extremes to do so, normal has become the new weird.
It made me wonder will a return to traditionalism be next? Will it somehow become hip to be square?
After all every reaction has an equal or opposite reaction, so they say. When nothing is shocking anymore, is the only logical way left to stand out to be not at all shocking? To be shockingly not shocking?
What do you think? Please share in the comments!
These women sure do seem to like attention. I wonder what they are making statements about…
I wonder what all the gals covered in tattoos will do when tattoos are “out?”
When I see the tattoos, piercings, odd hair colors, each of them adds a negative assessment to their IQ. Perhaps this is the statement that they are making.
RPG, they will young, fabulous and hip forever. So by definition, their tattoos will always be the “in thing”.
I hope there is a swing back to more traditional ideas, but not sure that it is going to happen anytime soon.
One or two smaller tattoos that have a real meaning, can be attractive and respectful, as can an piercing. Unfortunately it seems like both of those are being used to fill in something that is missing within people. It’s like women (and men), cover their bodies is ink and metal, as a way to gain more self esteem.
that’s sad.
I wonder if it has ever occurred to these women to do something useful with their lives.
haha, I’ll go first. RPG … kinda surprised it took you so long to notice what’s been going on all around you. Wanna know why Trump won the election ? Its because most of America looked around them and saw Weirdos … like the person you saw. And all these Weirdos … and whatever garbage they stood for … was being pushed by the Media and by the Democrats.
People looked around and said “what the hell happened ?”. Hillary would have been just more of the same. And so they voted for Trump. The battle going on right now is for control of our country. Can Trump regain control for “normal” people or has the country hijacked by Obama … and its too far gone to recover from ?
And please don’t make the same mistake that got us here. Please ? Please don’t assume these people are “edgy” or “expressing their individuality”. THEY AREN”T. They are mentally ill. Want to convince you that being mentally ill is now normal and if you won’t agree … they will shove it down your throat anyway. In other words … you don’t get a choice. These wackos are fascists plain and simple. Free speech for them and prison for you. That’s what they want. And under Obama … they marched the ball well down the field in their direction. Hillary was to get them over the goal line.
Its time for people to start resisting and telling these people the truth. And the truth is … they are mentally ill.
Holy cow … waited a few minutes and ended up last, lol.
@FB: All of them? I think in moderation any of the above can actually look nice. I know that “blue” isn’t a real hair color, but I have seen a few women with add “blue streaks” to their hair, and it actually looks really good. well, to me it does.
Wanna know how bad its gotten ? How far down the rabbit hole it goes ? Here is a vid of someone running for Governor in the state of Maryland. I wish this was a joke … something from the Onion. But its real. An actual REAL TV advertisement. No shit. And this retard thinks he’s actually going to win. Here’s a hint … anyone who votes for this dude is just as mentally ill … as he is. And, yes, he/she/it has adopted two black girls … one of whom is retarded. But its for …. Progressive values … just hope I don’t puke.
Here’s a test … how many white, heterosexual males are in his ad ?
oh that ad is just too funny! unfortunately it will probably work in Marylandastan.
here’s one to read. the female has $20,000 in ink just on her arms.

sad…
I too have no tattoos, only ears pierced, minimal makeup, and natural hair color.
Normies unite!
I already know one guy who is getting all his tattoos removed one by one.
Just wait until this lanced and tatted up generation reaches retirement age. At that time, young people will venerate those practices as detestable, and with venom.
Bloom reminded me how much I miss just simple fun 80s normalcy.
Huey Lewis was just fun. Not deep or edgy or relevent. Just summer grill music.
When hipster bands wore suits and payed homage to musicians who came before them, in this case the immortal Smokey Robinson.
Its Hip to be Square!
It made me wonder will a return to traditionalism be next? Will it somehow become hip to be square?
After all every reaction has an equal or opposite reaction, so they say. When nothing is shocking anymore, is the only logical way left to stand out to be not at all shocking? To be shockingly not shocking?
gosh, i so hope so!
i see many beautiful women who have vibrant tatoos all over their arms, and it is just not attractive. they can never wear a sundress without their tats showing, and they distract from everything. even when the rest of their appearance is conservative – hair, makeup, piercings – the tats distract from all of it.
Unfortunately it seems like both of those are being used to fill in something that is missing within people. It’s like women (and men), cover their bodies is ink and metal, as a way to gain more self esteem.
yes. and they still look ‘lost’ b/c ink and tattoos and wild hair will never fulfill a person. only Jesus Christ can do that.
RPG: “It made me wonder will a return to traditionalism be next? Will it somehow become hip to be square?”
I have a young friend who sings Jazz and standards of the Debbie Reynolds Rosemary Cloony era. She’s very, very good but some of why she seems to have done it is to horrify her metal head parents! No tattoos and though she’s pretty artsy and progressive she physically presents herself as super square.
There’s an argument about doing yourself up to be different, to flip off the establishment, to show your independence. I could sort of believe that about many of the hippies I grew up around. Sort of. Even then it wasn’t just to be different, it was also to be the same … to show that you are a member of a tribe.
A few years ago I was on a road trip with a fairly conservative friend. At a gas station he saw one of those “If you can’t trust me with a choice how can you trust me with a child” bumper stickers and was triggered. He said: “It didn’t even really make sense!” Yes or no, it didn’t matter and I told he he was being a narcissist. It wasn’t about him, it was about her. There was no chance it was going to convert someone’s beliefs or politics … it was a way of announcing who she was to her allies, not her enemies.
Tattoos are like that. They have been a symbol of belonging rather than rebellion since the dawn of time. This is why military guys get them. Solidarity. In my family it was the old merchant seamen who had them. Blue birds on your chest to carry you to safety. Neptune or some other different ones for crossing “The Line” (the equator, a big deal the first time a sailor does it), they were badges of belonging.
I thing it’s the lack of deep meaning and connection in modern life that causes people to mark themselves. We haven’t all lived through a societal test that connects us like the Depression or WWII. We are desperate for tribes because we don’t have anything that makes All Of Us the tribe. At the very least you can be connected to someone who simply has had a tattoo and feels they are part of a certain era or culture even if it’s pretty vaguely defined.
ewww, Mega! that vid ad is terrible! gross!!! ewww!!!
(btw – very glad to hear your results were good!)
“That rose is Rosie O’Donnell with a mouth full of leaves!” LOL!
my brother lives in hawaii, and his daughter one time was talking about how bad tattoos look as people get older – cause they share them with everyone on the beach – and they look gross!
@Mega:
I’m with the FML guy on this one. If you have, say, 1 or 2 tattoos that aren’t visible in your work clothes, and maybe tend toward mildly odd aesthetics, you’re probably just a nice normal guy who’s into certain stuff.
On the other hand, if you have ink all down your arms, 3+ facial piercings, and present yourself over-the-top all the time, that’s when it indicates damaged goods.
Kind of like the difference between an honest guy who happens to like golf and BMWs, vs. the guy who surrounds himself in luxury items to shout down a feeling of emptiness in himself. There are levels to this stuff in both cases.
It’s worth noting too, that the western cultural spirit is complex and manifests in different ways. There’s room for the eccentrics on the right and in our civilization too—provided we are on the same page where it really counts.
I can see having one or two as an attempt to show that they belong to a group. But several with no connections or sleeves? Nah! They are trying to fill an inner void, that just gets larger with every tattoo they add.
“It made me wonder will a return to traditionalism be next?”
Yes, after the great purge of biblical proportions. Until then, it will only get worse.
“very glad to hear your results were good!”
Thanks Ame !!! Things are looking better … lots and lots of tests this week trying to figure out what was going on. No concrete answers yet, but certainly looking better.
As for Warwicke … dude … assuming you’re a dude … you need to get a grip and hang on tight … and then swallow the Red Pill that someone hopefully offered you along your journey. And, yup, its yucky and tastes like crap. But when you’re done and you accept reality … you’ll realize … that what you just said is complete horseshit.
See, I do like golf. And I do like BMW’s but prefer Audi’s. Know why ? Because I’m honest about what I like and what I don’t like. The asshole who likes luxury items because he thinks it makes him look cool … he’s just an asshole. There are no levels to it at all, reality has no idea what you’re talking about. Saying that just makes you look like a moron.
And its worth noting that … the western cultural spirit is NOT COMPLEX and DOESN’T manifest it in different ways. It doesn’t like faggots. Or lesbians. Or trannies. Or pedophiles. Or fucked up in the head libtards who have tatted themselves out and who voted for Hillary because she had a vagina and it was her turn.
See dude, there isn’t any room on the LEFT for eccentrics/retards and the only ones who say so … are assholes like you … libtard, brainwashed, fucked up in the head morons who try to make out like condescending dicks while refusing to admit that in actuality, you are a complete moron … all while stooping to allow the dimwit brother in law to speak. In other words … you’re an elitist left wing, progressive, socialist, know-it-all prick. And it ain’t an “eccentric on the right” saying that … its anyone with 1/2 a brain.
Got it ? Just cut the horseshit or just plain go away. Nobody is buying your crap here. If it wasn’t me calling you out, it would be someone else. Jesus, can’t imagine what Ton would do … jump outta the webpage you are reading and punch you in the face ? Probably what you deserve.
Alan K…”I have a young friend who sings Jazz and standards of the Debbie Reynolds Rosemary Cloony era. There’s a character like, a guy, that in Tom Wolfe’s “A Man in Full.” He is so repulsed by the chaotic hippie environment in which he was brought up by his divorced hippie mom that he becomes as straight as he possibly can.
DF: “There’s a character like, a guy, that in Tom Wolfe’s “A Man in Full.” He is so repulsed by the chaotic hippie environment in which he was brought up by his divorced hippie mom that he becomes as straight as he possibly can.”
That’s sort of like ME. My parents never took on hippie fashions or lifestyle but it all surrounded us very closely. Dad had been whatever the 1930s version of a beatnik was and was so familiar with the scene that he had sort of emerged out the other side. In high school and even at a VERY far out college people made dressing a certain way, listening to the right music and getting stoned and drunk social acceptance tests. My attitude was “If you’re going to test me, F-you. I don’t test. I’ll die before I’ll join.” I’ve never been particularly judgemental, part of that hippie heritage that I actually accepted, and I’m all for being polite and such, but if you want to test me to see if I belong … well, that ain’t happening.
There is a thing about extreme fashion, colored hair, wild clothes, piercings, tattoos that I noticed from the fringes of punk culture in the late ’70s. It allows the unattractive to at least be fashionable. I can’t criticize that, I like the inherent democracy in it. It’s really no different than the fact that the old can dress well. But, if it were me, I’d focus on things that are reversible. I lived for a while in New Zealand, one of the most heavily tattooed places on earth (in fact a lot of our tat-fad seems to have come up from Oz and NZ in the late 90s through early 2000s), and OLD tattoos, unless applied by a MASTER get really scuzzy as you get old.
It is a sign of youthful detachment from the passing of time that you think you’re going to like your tattoo forever. When you see some 40 year old babe hanging on to the last bit of her looks but getting a tattoo because it’s “the style” or because younger dumber people are doing it you have to wonder about a society that teaches that it’s okay for a middle aged lady to behave like a drunk teenage Marine. Looking like a bruised fruit does not make you seem respectable as an old lady.
You can tell it’s a rite of belonging, however, because there many ways to do non permanent, appropriate to the event, tattoos. I’d call it pussy on a guy but the ladies should really consider temporary!
The Navy tattoo tradtions are pretty cool…. And it always pains me to say decent things about semen
I thought we would have hit max female tattoo some time back, but not only was i wrong about that, it’s been combined with all the other stuff. Pericings and non natural hair die are pretty lame status signaling since they are not permanent which is why I think both seemed more popular them tattoos with women in the 90’s but these things have a long and cyclic history in the West. At least for men. Chicks with tattoos… don’t know but I think it started, like so much of modern life, as women trying to ape the behaviour of apex alpha men. ie bad boys
It’s been years since I have seen a face tattoo though and I probably hang in lower social circles then is typical for this crowd. I also do a fair number of charity events, almost always hosted, staffed etc by folks with earrings in funny places and ink. You take the good with the bad in this life.
I thought most research about generation z is that they are more conservative then us older folks.
Time will tell.
It does seem like normal is the new weird. People have even criticized me for not having more piercings and a tattoo!
My college used to invite a piercing and tattoo parlor to give discount piercing and tattoos each year in a mobile unit. People lost their minds on that day. One girl got enough piercings to lace her back with ribbons.
The wackiest tattoo I’ve seen was on a young Asian woman from Oz who had a face tattooed on the back of her head. He hair covered it but she kept it shaved so she could pull the hair back and shock people. She was also pierced head to toe. Typically laconic the other Aussies referred to her metal as “her bits.” She was definitely on a mission.
The most ironic tattoo story I’ve experienced was while producing a show at a traditionally black southern men’s college. I had to work with an artist, a very very progressive kid who displayed how radical he was by dying his hair white and having serious tattoo “sleeves.” Because of this, there were some broad black parallel lines on his arms that might, just might, be seen from a distance to be either part of a swastika or the tails of a stylized SS. The campus cops were NOT amused but after being convinced he was really a whiny liberal they told him he’d have to remain sleeves down and buttoned to the collar. This in broiling temps and humidity. You’d think, with all the lefty cred he felt he was carrying that he’d be understanding … BUT (as John Belushi used to say) NOOO. He did his best to come off the poor, misunderstood victim. Finally, someone (I wish it had been me but I can’t make that claim) told him he’d made himself look like some Nazi fetish boy and he’d just have to to suck it up!
I travel in more conservative circles these days.
Love this post… definitely true!
Even in high school and college this was true for my age group. It was the weird thing to be waiting to have sex, or want to get married young, or have children and forgo a career so you could focus on them. Unless you found other like minded people who agreed – the majority just didn’t and by default that made one weird 🙂
Roissy says they are more or less alpha widows. They can’t win an alpha so they make it clear they don’t care about the game at all.
OT – but sort of connected.
Daughter is at Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana this summer, working alongside a professor in one of the genetic labs there, doing some original research that will lead to the professor submitting it for consideration for publication in a research journal..
She has been going off-campus the last several weekends to the local farmer’s market there in Bloomington. She was surprised to see a goodly number of Amish folks offering their wares for sale. Research shows that there are Amish farms to the south west of Bloomington.
On the odd chance that the ladies here might enjoy this, here is a link to the Farmer’s Market stuff. Scroll down and click on the Farmer’s Market Produce Availability link or the Farm Vendor directory. Some of the participants will ship produce to a customer. Probably mostly stuff that won’t perish easily, like honey, etc. Folks who already live in flyover country maybe won’t be interested in this. But it is a change of pace from Los Angeles living. Reminds me of the farming communities I grew up in.
https://bloomington.in.gov/farmers-market
Scrolling through the blurbs of the various vendors, many of them seem to have jettisoned the city fast track and gone to the ground (farming) in an effort to get back to a more simple life. If normal is the new weird, Bloomington is doing its best to go weird.
For those who like to go exploring new geography, here is a starting point with Google Maps. Bloomington Indiana
IU is my dad’s alma mater!
I’ll have to check those out.
My mom lived in Bloomington. Dated a couple guys from IU in my early 20s. Was there often.
” Folks who already live in flyover country maybe won’t be interested in this. But it is a change of pace from Los Angeles living. Reminds me of the farming communities I grew up in.”
Farmers’ Markets are wonderful, but you’re right, at least in our city, we have tons that happen (on all different sides of the city!) from the surrounding country areas. That’s great that your daughter found them though 🙂 I’m sure she’ll love developing a relationship with the ones she frequently buys from.
When I’ve gone before, sometimes they’ve had cute, younger farmer sons lol. You better be careful Richard, or she’ll fall in love with one of those younger farmers!
There is a new post at Spawny’s
https://spawnyspace.wordpress.com/2018/06/10/a-purpose-filled-life/
Just posted about this woman who is over 50 and (in my opinion) looks amazing!
http://girlwithadragonflytattoo.com/2018/06/10/makeup-for-50/
What do y’all honestly think about how she looks though? It’d be interesting to see what more people think about how she’s aged (is this normal? does she look good for her age? etc)?
My husband doesn’t like her hair.. at all… but then he really loves long long hair on women. So the haircut completely kills it for him.
I use to live in a super super zip code. Lots of quality looking gals FOR over 50. Professionally good looking with free time and lots of extra cash. I am sure they were absolute hammers back in the day but they aint what they use to be no mo
Steph and ladies.
How to be honest yet kind. I skipped right to the end to see her in full makeup.
Disclaimer: the Mrs is 55 so I know the mature set.
She has good bones, obvious muscle tone on arms, not overdone makeup.
In a room of 50 year olds say bridge at the rec centre she is 8-9.
On the street, in the grocers, among mix of 30-60 (assume all the 25 year olds are in class)…..
Wouldn’t even see her!!
Beginnings of turkey neck, the man hands, the sinking of the eyes, the overtaught yet fragile skin, the overall lack of vitality.
Yes “For Her Age” she is 9, as a Woman she is a 3.
Compare her to this early thirties 5.
She is equally well made up but chunky. But she has the vitality of youth still remaining. Still wouldn’t be attracted but at least I would notice her.
Something the over 40 (yes it starts then) divorcees or holding out need to realize, the Commitment marketplace is All Women. Yes any woman can get laid. But to get a Fourth Date never mind a relationship…..you are competing against everyone.
“Well you’re an old man too! Asshole”
Yes, yes I am.
But old men can make up for it with resources and…..
Being Alone Doesn’t Bug Us. We know what we look like.
We. Do. Not. Care.
Sorry but ever time I hear the “isnt she great for x” I really hear “please agree with rationalization that its not too late.”
(Apologies to Steph in advance if I misinterpreted.)
I was at the event again yesterday and noticed a gal, probably early 50s, who was exceptionally good looking, fit, and well put together. She looked better than many of the 30 year olds, many who were overweight and looked like they had already given up. But she’s definitely the exception to the rule and I bet she works at it to look that good. She was obviously getting her hair and nails and such done regular, was dressed very flattering and stylishly, etc. well groomed and well put together. Some of it might be lucky genetics too. And she’s likely always been more attractive than the average. All that said she appeared to be single and there looking so I wondered if she was recently so or what the story was…
Another thing I noticed at this event was in how many of the longtime couples (in their 50s) the men were in much better shape and much better looking than their wives. It’s hard to say but my guess is that when they married these gals were as good looking as their mates and then had either stopped bothering or trying or maybe it just was inevitable w age. I’d say most of the gals could have looked better w effort so probably were just too comfortable or not trying. Sad.
Actually the attractive gal in her 50s looked very similar to the “finished” gal from Stephanie’s video except she had shoulder length hair in a cute layered style.
That’s a common observation of mine but thought it was more about military men staying in shape longer in life but then I learned better
Reality is, the more secure a woman feels the worse she will be toward her beta chump. Those good-looking gals of 50+ in one of the most expensive zip codes in the usa know their betas can afford younger and hotter so they behave.
Dread game wins
“Sorry but ever time I hear the “isnt she great for x” I really hear “please agree with rationalization that its not too late.”
(Apologies to Steph in advance if I misinterpreted.”
No, you read in between the lines correctly lol!
In my mind I’m like… is she still attractive even though she’s clearly aging? She is to me… but I’m not a man….
Horesman has the right of it
I think most people underestimate how easy it is for a 50 year old guy to have a little cash, a little game, good frame, be in decent phsyical condition to pull chicks 10-20 years younger. And of course the more he has of any of those things the easier it is and younger the girls get
Yesterday I had a 23 year old waitress hover over me, talking about bikes and tattoos while I ate dinner.
It ain’t that hard for men, and I wish younger men understood it will be easier to bang college chicks when they’re 30-35
This is proper tattoos…..
I think she is kinda cute. But she looked better before adding makeup.
Would still smash either way.
Men will go for older cars, and younger women.
Just is what it is.
Never understood that war dancing stuff
Seems like they’re just giving the other fellas the chance to get the 1st lick in.
Which is probably why White guys conquered all those places.
LOL! Well said, Ton! “giving the other fellas the chance to get the 1st lick in.” The losers got were guests of honor at a village bar-b-que where they were ate!
Oh and the He\She is only a 5!
5 is Average! Not good not bad.
In a Normal distribution the %s are
1 1.5%
2 4.4%
3 9.2%
4 14.5%
5 38.2%
6 14.5%
7 9.2%
8 4.4%
9 1.5%
10 0.1%
Over half of any sample of anything are between 4 and 6.
What am I? Physically? 6 for my age physically, 4 overall.
Also there is the Hidden Competition that women ignore or can’t admit.
The Hidden Competition that beats, automatically, 20%+of women before they even show up. So the female Commitment marketplace is really competing against 120%.
(No life isn’t fair!)
No who your Hidden Competition is….
You know it…..
Come on….admit it….
It. Is…
NOTHING!
(Well hobbies, the guys, freedon, peace and quiet)
Thats right. Even the mythical 9 at fifty must compete with….NOTHING!
Just Go Away! Nope! Not Interested! In ANY of You!
And not just losers. Across the board. Hunky men, rich men, average men, good men.
And not haters. Just men who say any relationship is just not worth the effort.
And not the chase either. You show up by magic, in his lap, eager, pleasant, giving!
Nope! Changing my life is just not worth it. I like me. I like my life.
So 20% of all women, from 1s to 5s to 10s
You will never get a man.
Because you will lose to
NOTHING.
Sorry. Not personal. Just sayin….
Ton: “probably why White guys conquered all those places.”
Yup. In most cases and including New Zealand. However, if I remember correctly (and if we have any Kiwis, they should speak up) the Maoris did a pretty good job of fighting the Brits until a very respectful peace was achieved. They rapidly developed complex earth works and mastered the use of captured muskets and artillery. Compare to most of the people Europeans went up against those dudes learned pretty damn quick. Of course, if you count endless miles of ocean which had it’s own deadly qualities, the Polynesians (Maori, Hawaiians, etc) colonized more of the earth than several of the European powers combined. I worked with 20 or 30 of them and never met one I didn’t like … but stand clear when the drinking starts. I’d always head home early!
FML: “But she looked better before adding makeup.”
I agree. There probably is a sort of guy who likes all the coiffing, the hair and make up. But I never got it. I find it doesn’t help and is often a turn off. Maybe more something that women do to compete with each other rather than being actually attractive to men. Maybe if you’re talking about a really old woman. Maybe it makes a 4 a 6 (I actually hate this numbers thing) from 50 feet.
I’ve seen tiny amounts of make up make a difference on the right woman but it’s usually much less than most women would feel good about. I’ve seen the best make up in the world, like Academy Award, hired by the CIA to disguise people, makeup and never felt that, in real life rather than a carefully lit movie set, it changes my perception of most women’s attractiveness.
But I may be different than most guys and I also grew up in the land of no make up, small towns in the Rocky Mountains. After 20 year of sun at 7,000 ft. You either look good or you don’t, it’s all genetics.
I think that the key part you missed, is that even a lot of guys who don’t “like my life”, those who even “hate my life”, will say that any relationship is just not worth the effort.
for them, with even as bad as things may seem in their lives, women provide no added value. Just more aggravation.
Thank the gods I am Not a Woman!!
Let alone an over 35 Woman!!
Having to work, pay bills, keep a house…just like a man
Wanting to be appreciated….just like a man
Wanting to get laid occassionally…just like a man
Plus
Longing (apparently biologically programmed) for a committed relationship.
Needing to reproduce (again fucking biology)
Yet
Not being able to be comfortable being alone forever…unlike a man
Not being able to fill that void with hobbies, mission…unlike a man
Not being content in peace and simplicity…unlike a man
And KNOWING (in the dark of the night when creaks echo in the dark)
There is a 1 in 5 or better chance….
I Will Never Have A Committed Partner Want Just ME Ever Again!!
…Just like a Man.
(Well off to take the mutt for a sunset stroll, start the grill and bed down the ponies.)
Toodles!
I am just FULL of sunshine and roses today!
I Heard that!
Stephanie – i didn’t like her hair, either.
and i got lost in her attitude which made sense when she revealed she goes out to clubs and likes kissing (implying kissing multiple men, not one man) – so she’s on the prowl … so i didn’t find her beautiful or pretty.
They fought well but at the end of the day it ain’t their island anymore.
LOL I’m more then passingly familiar with a number of Somaons and guys from Tango. Goodly number of Somaons in 1st Batt when I was there and some how I fell in of dudes from both Typically didn’t care for Hawaiians all that much. To many are professional victims like negroes.
mgtowhorseman
I am just FULL of sunshine and roses today!
LOL!
Horseman – our Resident Optimist 😉
I’ve banged a model and a couple of weather girls; their professional make up is awful but it works when they figure in the light and what not.
1st time I saw the Hulu girl all made up for work I thought she looked like raggedy Ann doll.
women provide no added value. Just more aggravation.
…….
Completely dependant on how valuable they find a man. If she is more aggravation then value she thinks loosing you is no big deal
Completely dependant on how valuable they find a man. If she is more aggravation then value she thinks loosing you is no big deal
truth.
Pah! Don’t let the kids generation-gap you.
MH, that is a 4 with make-up.
@Stephanie said: You better be careful Richard, or she’ll fall in love with one of those younger farmers!
Maybe. But for sure she has fallen in love with the IU Campus and the town. Saw her first cluster of fireflies the other night. Apparently June is their wettest month, so she is learning to think before she heads out. Because it actually rains there – unlike LA where it can NOT rain for 10 months at a time or so.
Looked at your makeup video. She fits the definition of a handsome woman. Look, but don’t touch. I prefer ones who look like they like to be touched and you can run your fingers through their hair. My wife met/meets those criteria. From what you have described, I suspect your husband and I share a similar taste in women. 😉

Fine by me…the more disobedient women display their red flags, the easier it is to ignore them.
Disfiguring their bodies to attention whore their red flags is a bold strategy, Cotton. It’s not paying off for them though.

And KNOWING (in the dark of the night when creaks echo in the dark)
Acquainted With The Night
I never got any piercings or tattoos when it seeemed like everyone was going for one. At 16, all of my friends got their belly buttons pierced but I never did and now they look awful lol. I did get a small semi colon tattoo on my heel tho a few months ago because I liked the concept of it, but that’s it and all
Guess I got put on auto ignore after reading Warwicke the riot act. Kinda like Stephanie … you spout bullshit … you get called on it … everybody just put the dude on AUTO-IGNORE !!!!
Whatever. Don’t effing care.
As for Steph and her hot 50 something, pretty much echo Horseman’s opinions. Good facial features and obviously very thin … which is attractive. But her entire life seems to be made up of TRICKING AND MANIPULATING MEN … into thinking she’s sexy. Competing with 30 yr olds when men her age don’t even want that. Good god, just fucking gag me. My GF is 55 too and not nearly as thin. Doesn’t wear makeup or perfume or do her nails or toes or wear nylons or high heels. She dresses normal and acts normal and looks normal. No lies and no bullshit and no games. Good company. Honest. Doesn’t bitch or complain. Doesn’t hit me with a million things I’m supposed to do for her. A companion you’d actually want around. That’s what men our age want. Yes, she likes me; its mutual. Sex is great. She hasn’t bought makeup in years … maybe never. And I don’t care one bit. Most of the older married men here would say the same.
Young and sexy is great to fuck but a pain in the ass … when you are older you want someone you are compatible with and who you get along with, no stress, no bullshit, no arguments … PERFECT MAKEUP DOES NOTHING TO HELP ANYONE. Neither does being skinny if you’re a lying manipulative cunt who’s already destroyed 3 other men. Men don’t want that, any of that … why is that so hard to understand ???
RPG: “It’s hard to say but my guess is that when they married these gals were as good looking as their mates and then had either stopped bothering or trying or maybe it just was inevitable w age. I’d say most of the gals could have looked better w effort so probably were just too comfortable or not trying. Sad.”
For all you’ve posted on this blog … I’m beginning to think you really don’t understand men at all.
Mega – a thousand cliches are running through my head. And none of them are going to do you any good. My impulse is to say it’s OK to be scared … and angry.. But then, I think that is a stupid thing to say when I can’t possibly know what emotions you are dealing with. I guess the best I can say is that we are listening to you. I know that venting is not going to change the outcome of your blood tests – but vent anyway. Do your best to not make the venting personal. But hopefully the folks reading will know to take Mega’s venting with a grain or two of salt.
A friend is one to whom one may pour out the contents of one’s heart, chaff and grain together, knowing that gentle hands will take and sift it, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.

We may not be friends here in the traditional sense. But we all know what it means to be human, sharing a common condition. We know what it means to have concern, one for another. And, for those of us who believe, we know what it means to share God’s mercies with others. So – until you get the all-clear from your doctors, vent as you need to and we will keep blowing the chaff away.
Yes I remember when belly button piercing was all the rage. I didn’t get one either. I don’t think there’s anything wrong w tattoos, for the record. But I think somewhere too visible should be thought out long and hard and long term.
Like a green worm on the side of one’s face…. that may seem cool in college but longer term? I wonder if she’ll regret that one…
Mega – you’re not on auto-ignore … or any kind of ignore 🙂

Agreed — Mega to be honest sometimes I just don’t know what to reply. IMHO you totally misread the comment you responded to. And it wasn’t the first. Maybe consider sleeping on it before pushing post when you want to make a heated reply? Several times in the past you have seemed to regret such comments later. Just something to ponder.
I would be the first to admit I don’t totally understand the male mind, despite trying and wanting to. The male and female minds work very differently and as a result the chances of misinterpretation are high, even under the best conditions.
Also you mentioned something about what Ton would say. Actually I am guessing Ton may disagree w much people say but I noticed he rarely calls someone out or engages in debate unless they address him directly, vs if they make general comments. It that he never has, but it’s not his standard operating procedure. Which I appreciate.
We are all on our own spectrum, or phase of the journey. Extending grace toward new commenters unless they are so obviously trolling is how I would like everyone to approach things at my place.
my parents took us to IU when i was fifteen to show me where my dad graduated from and my mom spent her freshman year. i do have a memory that the campus was beautiful, but what i remember most is that was when i figured out my mom was knocked up with me when they got married. such a delightful memory!
I am sorry 😦
@Mega & @RedPillGirlNotes,
I suggest both of you watch this to the end. It explains men and women perfectly!
@Ame: so now you’ve just created a permanent mental picture for me that will be triggered whenever I see pictures of the IU campus. Not the knocking up. The discovery of same. I remember the emotions from the moment my wife and older sister and I discovered positive proof that their mom was pregnant with older daughter when she married their dad.
@RPG: I saw no connection between Mega’s words and the words he quoted from you – which made me think he was only “venting” here over his current situation more than creating useful and thoughtful responses. So long as we take his comments with a grain of salt for a while, I think no damage will be done.
RP, I was responding to his reply to Warwicke, but agreed I don’t want to make it a deal.
FML – that’s hilarious!
this is a good one, too:
Richard, i’m sorry 😦
i think the worst part was that she put me off and never picked it up again. “Mom, how is it that Dad graduated ____, and y’all got married ____, and I was born ____.” i had figured it out, so i knew … and though i was a pretty innocent teenager – and this was the late 70’s so no internet! … i knew it took nine months from conception to birth 🙂 .
my mother is the queen of living in an alternate reality. i call it her ‘hollywood bubble’ – as long as she stays in there, everything’s fine. when she comes out, life sucks. when i was in college she sent me this long letter telling me she got pregnant with me b/c she wanted a baby b/c she wanted someone to love her. sad. tragic. truth? who knows. but babies don’t come giving, they come needing, yet it took her four times till she figured that out. by then she was lying on the couch drugged while we raised ourselves. she didn’t know God then, and when she met Him, it changed her slightly. but lying is a terrible habit, especially when it’s ingrained and you find clever and creative ways to dodge reality and manipulate truth. took me ten years to forgive her for all she did during the seventeen i lived under her, but taking those ten years to work through forgiving her was THE best gift i could ever give to my own children. i broke the cycle by forgiving her, turning in a different direction, and moving forward in honesty and truth.
@Ame said I’m sorry.
Nothing to be sorry for. My point was, rather than IU being this abstract thing, it is now tied to a circumstance and emotion I can relate to. Ame – no matter what else may happen between us … we will always have IU 😉 Same sentiment for Ash, but on a different level.
Your experience was the same as my wife and her sisters (one older; one younger; I know middle child issues pretty well). Dates only added up if we presumed mom was pregnant when she married. But the day came when parents were moving from one house to another and we uncovered a journal that had statements written in it that proved the point.
I think the pregnant when married situation is far more common than people ever admitted. I know several couples of that generation that never said anything about it to their kids either, who later added up the dates and did the math. One couple even went so far as to mislead their kids for YEARS about their actual anniversary.
Ame – no matter what else may happen between us … we will always have IU 😉
LOL! 🙂
i’m sure it was much more common that we know.
as the child, though, it’s disturbing … disturbing to know they got married b/c of you. it might be better if they had a better marriage? idk. she was a terrible mother – and even admitted as much several times, flippantly so, but still … .
my opinion, which i’ll never be able to prove b/c she’ll deny it, is that she intentionally got pregnant to force him to marry her. they’d been dating five years on and off, so i’m sure that wasn’t the first time they had sex (duh). she obviously knew how to prevent pregnancy.
@Mega: we may be on the same side more than you think. I voted for Trump, and rarely miss out on church. If you were to reread my original post you’ll find that your response was coming from a misinterpretation.
Chris Rock: Feed me. Fuck me. Shut the fuck up. He’s closer to reality than most women are willing to recognize.
Notice that spending 2 hrs in the bathroom perfecting your makeup isn’t on the list. In fact, that pretty much makes sure you don’t make the list. And yet there are women making a living off YT … telling women over 50 how to perfect their makeup. Crazy.
And people wonder where things have gone wrong.
@FML: Re: [1 or 2 mods vs messy sleeves and so on]
I feel like we are saying the same thing at the core of it. I’m glad to see that some conservatives other than myself, think this way on the issue. The all-for and all-against stances are both failing to take certain things into account imho.
Please update your blog!! I’ve been addicted lol
a little fun story I stole!
Somewhere out in the suburbs in a rather typical neighborhood, a meat market opens its doors for business just as it has every morning for the past three decades. There in the cool meat counter, brilliantly displayed and fresh as can be, two cuts of meat lay side by side. Garnished and ready for sale, a beautiful slab of ground chuck beckons shoppers. Yes it’s fatty, grisly, and may contain a small bone chip or two, but it’s fresh, tasty, and a favorite for backyard grilling parties. Every day men line up to get their portion. Right next to the ground chuck, another cut of beef is on display. The filet mignon looks great too, and though some consider it to be a significantly better grade of beef, it shares the meat cooler with the ground chuck.
The ground chuck isn’t jealous of the filet mignon. In fact, the chuck makes fun of the filet for not being as popular. Two or three men per hour line up at the counter to purchase a filet, while ground chuck is in huge demand by dozens of men every hour. Ground chuck ends up at parties in tacos, burgers and chili, and finds itself on all kinds of fun and exciting menus.
But one day things changed. It was discovered that men were paying the butcher more for filet mignon than ground chuck, and this made ground chuck furious.
“How dare you devalue me!” said the ground chuck to the butcher “Filet Mignon and I are both beef, and we even came from the same cow. There’s absolutely no difference between us at all!”
The butcher responded “Same cow, yes, but the two of you are very different cuts of meat and are desired for different reasons. Filet mignon is an expensive delicacy because of its flavor and purity, while you are cheaper, more abundant, ground up, and contain fillers. Men value the filet more, and they’re willing to pay more for it on special occasions.”
Ground chuck was shocked. “What? Are you telling me filet has been going to upscale dinners and I’ve been nothing but party food? I’ve never been purchased for an upscale dinner, and I’m every bit as good as the filet. This is all your fault because the butcher society has labeled me a cheaper meat based on outdated guidelines, and now everyone is buying into the stereotype. This is 2018, and I demand equality!”
“I don’t think it works that way”, said the butcher. “The market sets the price, not me”.
Ground chuck responded “That’s bullshit! I came from the same cow as the filet, so it
shouldn’t matter that I’m a different cut of meat. Besides, that’s what makes me special, unique, and popular to so many men. I didn’t asked to be ground up with filler, it just happened that way, so I shouldn’t be valued less for it”.
Against the recommendation of the butcher, ground chuck appealed to the National
Organization of Meat and asked for equality. N.O.M. responded by making it illegal for the butcher to charge $26.99 per pound for filet mignon and only $3.69 per pound for ground chuck, calling it price discrimination. N.O.M.’s position was that assigning a lower value to ground chuck would lower its self esteem and prohibit it from becoming filet mignon in the future while simultaneously refusing to acknowledge a difference existed. N.O.M. censured the butcher society, shaming them as a bigoted and judgmental group for not treating all beef equally. According to N.O.M., men had no right to decide for themselves where they would invest their capital, so they took steps to end beef discrimination once and for all. Ground
chuck everywhere celebrated the decision.
Somewhere out in the suburbs in a rather normal neighborhood, a meat market opens its doors for business just as it has every morning for the past three decades. There in the cool meat counter, brilliantly displayed and fresh as can be, set two equally priced cuts of meat side by side. As usual, the men lined up to make their purchase.
All of a sudden, the line shifted. The men were overheard saying “Why would I buy ground chuck when filet mignon is the same price?” Ground chuck was livid, and began screaming at customers, telling them all how horrible filet mignon was and how ground chuck was an exciting mix of flavors. Ground chuck began shaming the men by telling them they had no right to value filet so much when each of them had purchased ground chuck dozens of times in the past. A few betas caved in and bought the ground chuck at $26.99 per pound. The rest of the men feasted on filet mignon that night.
Even with market forces staring it right in the face, ground chuck refused to budge on
pricing. It tried to reshape itself to resemble filets, and even switched places with the filet in the meat cooler, but nothing seemed to work because the men could easily distinguish between the two. Day in and day out, the scene was the same: the majority of men chose filet though they would have gladly settled for a lesser cut if a lesser investment was involved.
As the ground chuck sat there all pissed off in the meat cooler with no one to purchase it, it began to grow old and crusty. Finally the butcher had no choice but to pull it and throw it away because it was toxic and no longer suitable for consumption. The ground chuck that once had a purpose; a low grade piece of meat that could be easily had for a cheap price, was now completely worthless. It had overvalued itself and became irrelevant in the marketplace.
