Today I met a woman in her late 50s or maybe early 60s who just started telling me her story, like many people do.
Turns out she’s engaged to be married, to a man who lives overseas. Kenya, to be exact.
He’s in the military she said, and the met via an online dating site.
She seemed like a nice lady, and was with her elderly mother. She has mid length reddish blond hair and seemed like perhaps a retired school teacher, or some such. She dressed very plainly, not much make up, her hair somewhat messy. And she looked tired. Like she had the worries of the world on her shoulders.
She mentioned being married before, when she was 23. She said her ex-husband remarried recently at a popular nearby spot. She saw this on Facebook. She didn’t want a big wedding like that, she said. She wants to keep it simple.
I could somehow feel as she described what started to sound like an extremely complicated situation involving her sending tens of thousands of dollars to the fiancé so he could come that things may not be what they seem. There had been multiple delays, expired documents, more checks sent via money wire for thousands more.
He’ll be here soon, she said. I wondered if I sensed doubt in her voice? Soon… hopefully… she looked off in the distance, the words seemingly just hanging there.
Her mom didn’t know, she said. Nobody in her family did. She didn’t explain further, I didn’t pry. I wanted to ask more. I was afraid to ask.
I really worry for her and hope she is not being scammed. But as is sometimes said around here I had to remember, “Not my monkey, not my circus.”
Will she be another post-wall woman fleeced of all she has in the name of “love?” I hope not. Maybe someday she will pass my way again and I will find out how the story ends.
What do you think? Please share in the comments.
It’s a scam.
@ Earl I am afraid so. It did not sound good…
😦
” Maybe someday she will pass my way again and I will find out how the story ends.”
You eternal optimist, bloom. 🙂
I hope she likes ICE. She will be dealing with them an awful lot.
You KNOW that she is being scammed.
What are you going to do???
😦 that’s really awful! I’ve known only one lady, in her 50’s, who did something kind of similar with sending 1,000’s of dollars to someone in Africa and it just sounded really scammy.
Honestly though, who does that!?!? Poor desperate women….
We made lots of little apple turnovers tonight for Rosh Hashana and fall in general… still popping some in and out of the oven right now 😀 Sending y’all buttery and super delicious treats and happiness via pixels!
These women should be enjoying their families… and getting to make delicious homemade treats with brown sugar, fluffly croissant breads, honey and syrupy apples!!! Why would they not want this?! lol
‘Honestly though, who does that!?!? Poor desperate women….’
Divorced women who see their ex get remarried.
And if guys in the west finally start seeing the raw deal they are…women might have to resort to Africans for the slim chance at remarriage.
so sad and tragic 😦
“I really worry for her and hope she is not being scammed.”
You seriously believe there’s hope? Come on Bloom, don’t kid a kidder.
Sorry, but:
African scammers are creative and their victims seem to get dumber and dumber.
“Sending y’all buttery and super delicious treats and happiness via pixels!”
Thanks Stephanie! Looks YUM! 🙂
A couple of years back, I knew a lady about the same age (mid fifties, or thereabouts). Nice lady, she got together with her old high school boyfriend 30+ years after graduation. When they were dating, they were both lifeguards. Now, they were both divorced and the kids had left home. She though it must be meant to be! So…she moved to his town and got a job. She’d gained about six pounds since those days, but heh, she’d go on a diet. We went out with them once with a group and after about a half hour Mike turned to me and asked, “So who exactly is that asshole?” The guy was a miserable bastard toward her, and it was obvious he didn’t like her. That Christmas she excitedly texted everyone that “they were engaged!” So…upon questioning, I found out she’d gotten tired of waiting and bought her own ring and basically announced they were engaged. Good grief. I have no idea what they are up to now, but I’m pretty sure they aren’t married. That’s what this story reminds me of. Sort of.
sorry, not six pounds…sixty pounds.
wow, Liz … that’s … crazy.
Stephanie … looks like i need to plan a trip to san antone 😉
‘ I found out she’d gotten tired of waiting and bought her own ring and basically announced they were engaged. ‘
Wow…talk about crazy…that might be hall of fame level crazy.
@fml what can I do? I don’t even know who she is or how to find her again. I literally met her for the first time today, randomly. But yes I get what you are saying…. it is very disturbing.
Thing is, what I have learned in such situations before, they rarely want to hear the warning at the time. They are hell bent on the plan. Later, they cry victim but I could see she really didn’t want to hear it, even if deep down she already knows. I believe that’s also why she’s not telling her family. They would say what she does not want to hear. Sadly. Even if it could save her.
True Liz… I think deep down even she knows. Actually if all she loses is $15kish, she’ll get off cheap compared to actually going forward w marrying the guy.
Jeez, this old cowboys needs some niceness. Stephanie, can I please have a couple of those turnovers, maybe with a cool glass of milk, thank you ;-D
‘What are you going to do???’
I can tell you what I’d do.
She is toast.
“..thousands..”. $2000 = 200,000 Kenyan shillings.
20 times the median annual household income.
12 times the average annual wage.
I need to obtain a Kenyan email address, so i can start getting money from desperate wiminz too!
US military members get pay checks and there ain’t ( or wasnt) much to spend your money on in Kenya
On top of that there are legit chairty resources if a military member is having money problems
In this case it seems like she is “dating” an actual Kenyan so I am glad it’s a scam. The last thing we need is another 3rd world savage running round what use to be america

TNB
“Wow…talk about crazy…that might be hall of fame level crazy.”
Maybe that’s why this story brings her to mind.
I thought that was hall of fame level crazy…
but I think spending tens of thousands on a Kenyan male order (pun intended) husband now has that one beat.
Duh
@Ton yes she was evasive about what military he was in butcan American military member wouldn’t need thousands to pay for a new passport and visa and such, right?
This is a hoax. Sad that she would be fooled like this but once a person makes up their mind there’s no convincing them otherwise. A woman I know of is getting ready to marry a thrice-divorced alcoholic part-time tattoo artist who depends on her for money once her divorce goes through. Her outcome will probably be along similar lines to this lady. Unfortunate.
” A woman I know of is getting ready to marry a thrice-divorced alcoholic part-time tattoo artist…”
You’d think she’d have an inkling of what will happen.
Oh. God.
The lonely hearts loser club. Pathetic. It really is.
I don’t mean that in a condescending or patronizing way. I mean it quite literally. It is literally pathetic.
lol!
imagine y’all are getting ready for florence.
so … she’s never actually met this guy? face-to-face?
This story is quite common and you don’t even have to travel far. The Caribbean is a hotbed for it. Take a trip down to Jamaica and see all kinds of visa marriages for ‘love’.
Why do women do this?
Because these men are skilled at feeding them exactly what they want to hear.
They make females feel beautiful, desirable, wanted. Most of these women haven’t felt anything in a long long time. I believe you call it The Tingles.
These men have learned how to capitalize on it.
Was going to say I can’t imagine being that desperate, but having just recently experienced the Colorado housing market I can somewhat relate.
what’s your point?
Well, first I thought getting a home in Colorado would be easy.
We shopped around a while and most had something wrong, so we passed on them.
Then as time started to run out, we started looking at the “not quite right” homes with more interest.
And we still couldn’t get them, even at the asking price they were gone within 24 hours.
So we offered over the asking price, trying to throw money at the problem as our time was REALLY getting short and we were out of options.
Anyway, ended up with a good home (at a good bit over the asking price…and it’s a fixer upper for sure). But if I’d met a stripper named “Colorado” about two months ago, I’d have had to fight off the urge to call her a heartless gold-digging whore.
Just to add…
the whole time I was actually thinking, “This is what it’s like to be on the dating market as an old woman”
“Pick me!”
“aw…missed again…”
“Pick me!”
“Aw…”
“okay, I’ll just freeze my eggs until I’m more attractive. Then someone will pick me. Every day I’m getting better and better!”
Yeah, the housing market sucked.
Thanks for asking! (though who knows…you might not have been asking me but someone else. No idea)
wow, Liz … that is SUPER crazy!
i know that in the area where we live, they have pushed the housing prices up and up in the last several years. i read a little blip recently where people are competing for houses, and they’re super hard to find. i read another one where people are competing for single-story houses in some areas rather than two stories. and, imo, the prices are SHOCKING.
glad y’all were able to find a good house … and it sounds like you and Mike and sons are able to do a lot of the work yourselves (based on your comment once about them putting in a sliding door).
‘Because these men are skilled at feeding them exactly what they want to hear.
They make females feel beautiful, desirable, wanted. Most of these women haven’t felt anything in a long long time. I believe you call it The Tingles.
These men have learned how to capitalize on it.’
Charm is deceptive.
“(based on your comment once about them putting in a sliding door).”
LOL Thanks for reminding me…I often forget what I post. 😆
Yeah, they’ve been doing a lot of work (I did some too, all hands on deck, and all that…but I’m not very good at it)
There’s a lot left to do. It will probably take a year to finish this place, but it’s good to have projects and really make a place the way we want.
Also good for the boys to learn this stuff. 🙂
We’ve seen this type of housing market before. I’ve been on both ends….owned a home during a bubble, bought one at the bubble, sold one after the bubble popped and lost our backsides. I’m never going to rent out a house again, if I can avoid it. Took it in the shorts and it was not our fault..as we were forced to move after only a few months, after being told we’d stay for at least four years, by a really disreputable boss Mike had.
Anyway, enough sad talk.Life is good. My Colorado commentary was only a stab at levity, as in my opinion even a crappy joke is better than constant mindnumbing soulcrushing outrage in everything from politics to the general shítiness of a percentage of mankind.
i don’t follow tennis much – though my first husband did, so i was always aware of it then. but a fb friend does … and apparently Serena Williams displayed despicable behavior during and after the recent US Open where she lost.
of all things … Martina Navratilova and Mary Carillo, two former successful US women’s tennis players weighed in on the controversy here: http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2018/09/10/martina-navratilova-criticizes-serena-williams-behavior-at-us-open-final.html
here are some quotes:
“However, Navratilova wrote that the focus on the sexism controversy “is missing the point.”
“[W]e cannot measure ourselves by what we think we should also be able to get away with,” she said”
“In her op-ed, Navratilova said that Williams was correct when she claimed that “[t]here is a huge double standard for women when it comes to how bad behavior is punished — and not just in tennis.”
However, she added, “I don’t believe it’s a good idea to apply a standard of ‘If men can get away with it, women should be able to, too.’ Rather, I think the question we have to ask ourselves is this: What is the right way to behave to honor our sport and to respect our opponents?”
“If you follow tennis at all, you know those rules. They are inviolate,” Carillo added. “A lot of these people that are weighing in and saying double standard. I’m saying, you know what? This is not the hill you want to die on.”
Yup house is fully stocked with booze and top shelf ramen
Correct darling
Those are some great quotes, Ame. I wasn’t surprised at her tantrum 😀 she’s behaved REALLY nastily before with officials and even an open line judge. Told the US open line judge, “If I could I would shove this fucking ball down your fucking throat!”
And tennis is supposed to be a polite sport where you really are punished harshly sometimes (even the men).

First thing I wondered is if she’s abusive to her family (and eventually her daughter) and friends or husband who she just married last year.
She’s got a problem, and she’s had it for a long time.
Something interesting, too, would be to interview past people who’ve worked for her 😉 😛
i’m not sure she’s ever been a kind person, just from the little bits i remember. i doubt we’d find anything of value if we checked.
Martina said, “There have been many times when I was playing that I wanted to break my racket into a thousand pieces. Then I thought about the kids watching. And I grudgingly held on to that racket.”
there used to be something that held stupid in check AND culture used to support that holding in check.
now culture wants to jump on every stupid bandwagon and support stupid.
it was refreshing to read some very strong comments against supporting stupid.
i won’t cringe thinking of y’all feeding those babies ramen or give you links to articles proving how bad it is for you … i’ll just think of y’all being very prepared and putting booze in their bottles/sippy cups! 🙂 🙂 🙂
LOL we are almost 600 miles away on what’s a working vacation for me and a vacation for them
Stefan did a lot more digging than I have time for, and he found out that her coach really was (and admitted to ESPN that he was) cheating. But Serena is on record lying about that….
I don’t know… maybe it’s because I used to play tennis, but that’s hard to see players like this kind of ruin the sport or bring it down to a gutter level. And you’re totally right, Ame, about the manners and culture and how people used to hold their tantrum-feelings in.
i had seen that … where her coach admitted to cheating.
so debase.
it used to be people took pride in raising out of the gutter … now they take pride in dragging things, institutions, and people down to it.
may i never become like that … nor ever allow my children -regardless of their age – to do the same.
Wait a minute….is Ton is Florence?
How the heck did I miss this?!?
That’s my favorite area of Italy! Florence and Tuscany….that region pretty much encompasses the best parts of the country.
YAY! Hope you and yours are having a great time, Ton. 🙂
‘it used to be people took pride in raising out of the gutter … now they take pride in dragging things, institutions, and people down to it. ‘
Yes women are crying that they want the same ‘rights’ as men to drag themselves into the gutter by acting like jerks without consequences.
Newsflash ladies…when men go gutter diving, there’s consequences for us too. There’s no special privilege we get just because we are men…in fact we might get a fist to the face for it.
LOL! Oh good Lord. Just read the 600 miles bit which clued me in that it probably isn’t Italy.
Did I mention we’re a little “out” here?
I haven’t watched tv in over a month.
Sorry Ton! This is the first I’ve heard of hurricane Florence.
WOW! That sucks. 😦
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
lol, Liz! i thought you were just playin the first time, knowing it was the hurricane 🙂
i rarely watch tv, though my husband does watch a lot of specific things he likes. he usually keeps up with the weather, but lately we’ve had a lot of rain, so i’ve been cking out the weather online … and saw stuff about the hurricanes. otherwise, i’d probably be oblivious to it, too … until someone posted it on fb! lol! fb is where i get most of that kind of info anymore.
facebook – good for keeping up with weather … catastrophes around the world … friends around the world … aaaaand all the decorating sites i love 🙂 🙂 🙂
@Ame she didn’t say if they have met in person or not…
Men get away with a lot worse with no consequences or repercussions. Women apparently don’t have the same rights to act like this.
No, he’s visiting the FCI by where you live…

LOL we are down in Alabama, visiting my most important customer and enjoying the liquid sunshine, with this trip planned long before the storm was predicted. Otherwise I would be at Camp Ton Coastal and waiting on the storm
Glad you and yours are safe and having a good time, Ton. 🙂

The Six Sirens of the Sexual Apocalypse annihilated dating and courtship and changed it forever into something completely different and unrecognizable.
You cannot undo this, ladies. And no amount of shaming will work anymore.
1. The Pill
2. No-fault divorce
3. Working women – (female financial independence and economic advantage)
4. Man-hating feminism – (laws that disincentivize flirting/pickup/dating and marriage and incentivize divorce)
5. Penicillin (namely FDA approval of Doxycycline in 1967. Perfect timing!)
6. Porn
There will be no return to 1950s courting, sock hop dances, sharing a cream soda with two straws, bowling or dinner and a movie.
As for No.3 above, No, Lisa guys are not “just paying” for dates anymore. They don’t have to, and girls now know this.
Just ask any 17 or 18 year old guy. They have so many better, more entertaining and fulfilling options than the dating scene anyway, and with which no modern day girl can compete, unless she is offering free sex. Sports, gaming, porn, work have higher priority.
We are already seeing a lot of young guys not even willing to pay for a cup of black coffee at Starbucks for her, let alone some elaborately planned “romantic date” that will meet some girl’s approval. On top of that, younger guys are not going to even “hang out” with her more than twice
This is his 3 date rule versus her 90 day sexual layaway plan. Unless he has gotten to 3rd base or a home run, there ain’t gonna be no 3rd date. Next and ghost!
These are the kinds of waters that young girls are already swimming in. They don’t know any different, and probably won’t. By the time they hit 25, 28 and 30 and epiphany stage hits, they may have a very different attitude to what we’re hearing from the Lisas, Wendys, Julias of today.”
Pretty sure we’ll be celebrating our 30th too. Unless you know something I don’t….
Colorado is a no-fault divorce state, and there is no such thing as “community property”in their divorce laws.
JK. I have no idea…
speaking of things from africa … i like to keep african shae butter around b/c it’s good for lots of things. i used to buy it at this health food store that no longer exists, so i found the exact same product on amazon and purchased it.
however, it came in a different container and the label was slightly different from the pictured ad.
so, i sent a simple inquiry thru amazon just stating that the container didn’t look the same as in the pic, and the label was missing the logo in the pic.
i was expecting them to come back and say something like … no worries, it’s the same product, but we’ll be glad to refund you if you’d like.
but … nope. they immediately refunded me my money and didn’t even reply to my inquiry.
hummmmm … sounds a bit fishy to me.
see … idk why people don’t change their names sometimes. seriously. there are some surnames out there that … they just need to be changed.
30 years is remarkable … that’s awesome, Liz 🙂
saw this link on one of my natural healthy living facebook sites i follow, so clicked over.
Why Sperm Counts Are Dropping For Men Today; Sperm Count Zero
https://www.gq.com/story/sperm-count-zero
– it is all male doom-and-gloom … and gonna take the women down with us.
but … (if true) it has some really scary stuff in there. with all the health things with a special needs child, i hear and see a lot, and i’ve wondered for a long time the connection of these things to our human health. really scary stuff.
So what was causing this disruption? To say there is only a single answer might be an overstatement—stress, smoking, and obesity, for example, all depress sperm counts—but there are fewer and fewer critics of the following theory: The industrial revolution happened. And the oil industry happened. And 20th-century chemistry happened. In short, humans started ingesting a whole host of compounds that affected our hormones—including, most crucially, estrogen and testosterone.
When a chemical affects your hormones, it’s called an endocrine disruptor. And it turns out that many of the compounds used to make plastic soft and flexible (like phthalates) or to make them harder and stronger (like Bisphenol A, or BPA) are consummate endocrine disruptors. Phthalates and BPA, for example, mimic estrogen in the bloodstream. If you’re a man with a lot of phthalates in his system, you’ll produce less testosterone and fewer sperm. If exposed to phthalates in utero, a male fetus’s reproductive system itself will be altered: He will develop to be less male.
Women with raised levels of phthalates in their urine during pregnancy were significantly more likely to have sons with shorter anogenital distance as well as shorter penis length and smaller testes. “When the [fetus’s] testicles start making testosterone, which is about week eight of pregnancy, they make a little less,” Swan said. “That’s the nub of this whole story. So phthalates decrease testosterone. The testicles then do not produce proper testosterone, and the anogenital distance is shorter.”
The problem is that these chemicals are everywhere. BPA can be found in water bottles and food containers and sales receipts. Phthalates are even more common: They are in the coatings of pills and nutritional supplements; they’re used in gelling agents, lubricants, binders, emulsifying agents, and suspending agents. Not to mention medical devices, detergents and packaging, paint and modeling clay, pharmaceuticals and textiles and sex toys and nail polish and liquid soap and hair spray. They are used in tubing that processes food, so you’ll find them in milk, yogurt, sauces, soups, and even, in small amounts, in eggs, fruits, vegetables, pasta, noodles, rice, and water. The CDC determined that just about everyone in the United States has measurable levels of phthalates in his or her body—they’re unavoidable.
whenever there’s a study or data, i always want to know who funded the study and how they asked the questions … b/c one can prove anything they want by how they ask the questions:
(Cited critics of Swan include Elizabeth Whelan, now deceased, an epidemiologist famous for fighting the regulation of chemicals from her position as president of the American Council on Science and Health, which has received funding from Chevron, DuPont, and other companies in the plastic business.)

My sperm may be crooked, but thank goodness there is lots of it…
someone’s having fun with this!!! 🙂
Micky Mouse for a name is actually a whole lot better than some out there … but, for the love of life, parents … why do that to your kids?!!!
she was and is a bi*** … and an obvious liar.
and stupid to give you up. she’ll learn that the hard way though she will likely never admit it.
Thanks Ame…well, we were married in 1992 so we’re not quite there yet.
🙂
At any rate, we do joke about divorce. It’s been a joke for about 20 years.
Probably because my mom has been saying we’re going to divorce ever since we got married. It’s pretty weird….but not for her.
Kids are in on it too. Now it’s supposed to happen when Mike turns 50. Before it was 40, and before that 30.
and when you’re sitting in your wheelchairs in the old folks home, you can freak out the young nurses talking about it then, too 😉
weird mothers … i’ve got one. totally understand. no explanation needed.
I guess that means that you haven’t figured out who i am in the book yet…
People said the same thing about the Ex and I. We got to 29 before the divorce.
ah, thanks for reminding me! i was in the middle of a book series when that came in. i pulled it and will read it next 🙂
i have to admit, though … i used to think eReaders were stupid … till i got a kindle. and i LOVE my eReader. but going back to a paper book will be a dose of good medicine for me 🙂
My mom is the only person in world who actually knows us and thinks we’re going to get a divorce.
Liz – do i remember that your mom is … a little messed up? please forgive me if i’ve got this wrong; i mean no disrespect.
Oh, she’s definitely messed up. No offense taken.
“My mom is the only person in world who actually knows us and thinks we’re going to get a divorce.”
LOL! Liz you should make her bet you each year, to pay out on each anniversary, and each year increase the bet. 😀 Might as well profit off of that nonsense!
@Liz ❤
Maybe you'll appreciate this song. My husband sings it to me sometimes. It's one of his favorites.
What an awesome song! And perfect for us too. 🙂
Thanks Stephanie. LOL ❤
Heh, I'm not trying to complain. Just kind of devolved into the subject of Mom. Keep in mind she had a strange childhood. I think Dad might've been the only unmarried man she ever dated. Married men were kind of her "thing".
Actually met a woman at the last base who knew my mom! She was a teenager at Aviano (Italian base) and her dad was a General. I didn't even mention it to mom, I don't even want to know….
LOL Okay, enough on the subject of mom.
Florence (town), Wisconsin
My mom was from Florence, Wisconsin
Ame, I read the Decreased Sperm Count article too. It makes total sense. Men and women are not like they used to be.
“What you are seeing in a number of systems, other developmental systems, is that the sex differences are shrinking,” Swan told me. Men are producing less sperm. They’re also becoming less male.”
This explains the gender battle of today and having 1000 more options other than just male and female.
If this issue is carried generationally and male sperm count today is 50% less than in the 70s, then perhaps older men need to start reproducing.
But now that I think about it, if the sperm count in North America, Europe and Australia has dropped by half, then Africa is still a very viable option. No wonder African men charging their foreign brides 😉
‘Married men were kind of her “thing”.’
No wonder she has divorce on her mind a lot.
apparently … both my mom and dad liked women … there’s a story that there were two sisters living in their house (younger than all 4 of their adult children) … one for my mom and one for my dad. but … whatever.
you and i not only survived institutionally crazy mothers, but we better’d them … we rose above it and left their craziness behind.
here’s to us and all the rest who overcame such insanity 🙂
very cool, Farm Boy. i had neighbors once from Wisconsin – they were and are very proud of their state!
lol! and then there’s that!
really, though, wasn’t that a scary article?
when you think of all the chemicals in every.thing.we.eat. it’s really … scary.
my Aspie-Girl has this new anaphylactic allergy to an unknown food substance. with each reaction, we learn something new, but we can’t narrow it down to one thing. we’re *thinking* now it’s an “artificial flavoring.” artificial flavorings are proprietary recipes that, by protection of our illustrious fed gov’t, do not need to be disclosed and are hidden in so many food ingredients.
but … we still don’t know for sure. there are not allergy tests for chemically created food substances.
so … she could be allergic to the lining in a container that a food product is stored in. we simply do not know.
and the only way to gain more data/information? is when her airways start closing up with another reaction.
her allergist classifies this as an Idiopathic Anaplylaxis. i asked him if this is common, and he said he sees about one a month. granted, he’s a specialist, and this is his field … but … how many allergists are there? and if they all have one idiopathic anaphylaxis a month? that’s a lot.
another doc told me that with further generations from the industrial revolution, and we’re finding that instead of allergies decreasing as people age, as has been in all of history (if i understand him correctly), that now we’re not only seeing allergies increasing with age but the age of onset of new reactions is increasing as well.
I’m sorry Ame. I hope your daughter feels better and the allergies go away on their own. 💙
thank you, Love. it has been super stressful for me. thankfully, our diet at home is really healthy, and none of her reactions have been at home. however, all of them have been with foods she’s eaten before, some at restaurants we’ve frequented for years where she’s always eaten the same thing.
it’s just scary b/c it’s not like she’s going to get a rash … her airways freaking close up … and an epi-injector is not an option … and therefore continued monitoring of her vitals is not an option. and while there is not price on her life, those ER bills are not cheap, even with insurance 😦
she’s very impulsive, so i drill into her that her new mantra when away from home is, “DO NOT EAT IT!!!” 🙂 not that that’s always going to work with her, but at least she now knows that IF she’s going to eat a food she has not eaten before or has not eaten since she began reacting, she better have her epi out, ready to use, and her phone ready to call for help. eeek!
