Happy New Year, everyone!!!
And now to celebrate, a new post!
Tonight a song came on the radio I had forgotten about, but as it played I realized it was hypergamy right out there, long before the Internet or the manosphere or the Red Pill.
For best effect, play the video while you read along with the lyrics: (Note the plausible deniability worked into the video storyline… as well as the, “SIW you-go-girl!!! Just like a guy, they do it, too — equality!” last verse — can’t be too obvious, right?!?)
Material Girl
by Madonna
Some boys kiss me, some boys hug me
I think they’re okay
If they don’t give me proper credit, I just walk away
They can beg and they can plead
But they can’t see the light, that’s right
‘Cause the boy with the cold hard cash is always Mister Right
[Chorus]
‘Cause we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl
You know that we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl
[Verse 2]
Some boys romance, some boys slow dance
That’s all right with me
If they can’t raise my interest, then I have to let them be
Some boys try, and some boys lie
But I don’t let them play, no way
Only boys that save their pennies make my rainy day
[Chorus]
‘Cause we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl
You know that we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl
Living in a material world
And I am a material girl
You know that we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl
[Interlude]
Living in a material world (-terial)
Living in a material world
Living in a material world (-terial)
Living in a material world
[Verse 3]
Boys may come, and boys may go
And that’s all right, you see
Experience has made me rich, and now they’re after me
[Chorus]
‘Cause everybody’s living in a material world
And I am a material girl
You know that we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl
Living in a material world
And I am a material girl
You know that we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl
[Outro]
A material, a material, a material, a material world
Living in a material world (-terial)
Living in a material world
Living in a material world (-terial)
Living in a material world (uh uh)
Living in a material world (-terial)
Living in a material world
Living in a material world (-terial)
Living in a material world
The last that I heard of Madonna, it was shortly after the election. She promised oral sex to any man who voted for Hillary. There was a news feature about one man who attempted to collect. She welshed.
Here is a video from the same time frame that answers her.
Thoughts?
Marilyn Monroe did it better:
“The French are glad to die for love,
They delight in fighting duels,
But I prefer a man who lives and gives
Expensive jewels.
A kiss on the hand maybe quite continental
But diamonds are a girl’s best friend
A kiss may be grand.. but it won’t pay the rental on your humble flat
Or help you at the automat
Men grow cold as girls grow old
And we all lose our charms in the end
But square cut or pear shape these rocks don’t lose there shape
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend
… Tiffany’s!
… Cartiea!
Black star rus course
Talk to me Harry Winston tell me all about it!
There may come a time when a lass needs a lawyer
But diamonds are a girl’s best friend
There may come a time when a hard boiled employer thinks you’re awful nice
But get that ice or else no dice
He’s your guy when stocks are high but beware when they start to descend
Because that’s when those louses go back to their spouses
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend
I’ve heard of affairs that are strictly platonic
But diamonds are a girl’s best friend
And I think affairs that you must keep the masonic are better bets
If little girls get big bagettes
Time rolls on and youth is gone and you can’t straighten up when you bend
But stiff back or stiff knees you stand straight at.. Tiffany’s…
diamonds… diamonds… I don’t mean rhinestones.. but diamonds… are a girls best… best friend”
Ah the 80s. Madonna is the only artist that could pull that video off as well as she did. Except she was making more money than all the men in this video combined.
She’s a walking STD and these days she looks like Iggy Pop.
Agreed Kid, she’s downright scary looking anymore! Welcome!
@ Ash yes, she was making good money then but not anywhere near as rich as she went on to be. People were still predicting she would be a one hit wonder. She was at that time, briefly, married to Sean Penn (which I never understood and still don’t.) probably more than any female entertainer she took her sexuality and worked it for all she could. She personally succeeded w that strategy, or seemed to. There are some pretty hot pics of her and Vanilla Ice to be found out there. Both at the time at their physical apex. Not that their relationship worked even w that. I could go on and on. This song came out when I was about 15. Lots of water under the bridge since then but I think even though I personally wasn’t a huge fan, she shaped the era I lived in just the same.
Madonna could pull this off when she was young, pretty, and had less miles if you know what I mean.
However the wall is undefeated. And the wall isn’t about women aging because all women age…this is about what happens when the beauty fades and you are left with what the heart is.

Make posters and bumper stickers out of that one.
Earl, while that’s a beautiful sentiment, I wish more men saw it the way you just put it, but Kyle Trouble admits what the wall is really about.

A beautiful interior shines more with time, so true! Madonna often has a hatered in her eyes, she looks mean to me. Angry.
Who’s Kyle Trouble?
From the Kyle article:
“It is also probably safe to assume that the members of Pink Floyd were too busy banging their way through groupies, creating alpha widows by the dozen, to ever give real worry about what their song really meant.”
They knew what their song meant. Guess Kyle doesn’t know much about Pink Floyd.
It was a reference to Roger Waters losing his father in the Battle of Anzio (memorialized in the song “When the Tigers Broke Free”
This is what happens when people get advice from cads. Everything is based on sex and materialism (or hypergamy if you will).
And Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’…you can chalk that up as an album of what happens when a kid goes through the pain of not having a father. No amount of sex with groupies or fame replaces that wound.
Women make a choice.
Love either exists or it doesn’t.
Pairing is about an emotional bond or it is not.
It is either Unchained Melody or it is Material World as above.
Decide.
If it is the latter, then what do you have to offer in exchange for getting our material?
Unchained melody
The Righteous Brothers
Oh, my love, my darling
I’ve hungered for your touch
A long, lonely time
Time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?
I need your love
I need your love
God speed your love to me
Lonely rivers flow
To the sea, to the sea
To the open arms of the sea
Lonely rivers sigh
“Wait for me, wait for me”
I’ll be coming home, wait for me
Oh, my love, my darling
I’ve hungered, for your touch
A long, lonely time
Time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?
I need your love
I need your love
God speed your love to me
It’s both Horseman
Depending on where you rank in the smp and how you play the game
Material girl is pissy her wealthy alpha male has her as a side piece and won’t ditch his wife. That’s how that game is played
Heart broken beta is upset his old lady ain’t damp in the pants. That’s what happens to betas
It ain’t an either or situation
Lyrics to When the Tigers Broke Free:
It was just before dawn
One miserable morning in black ‘forty four
When the forward commander
Was told to sit tight
When he asked that his men be withdrawn
And the Generals gave thanks
As the other ranks held back
The enemy tanks for a while
And the Anzio bridgehead
Was held for the price
Of a few hundred ordinary lives
And kind old King George
Sent mother a note
When he heard that father was gone
It was, I recall
In the form of a scroll
With gold leaf adorned
And I found it one day
In a drawer of old photographs, hidden away
And my eyes still grow damp to remember
His Majesty signed
With his own rubber stamp
It was dark all around
There was frost in the ground
When the tigers broke free
And no one survived
From the Royal Fusiliers Company Z
They were all left behind
Most of them dead
The rest of them dying
And that’s how the High Command
Took my daddy from me
